Mayor
Mayor Stewart Young grew up and attended school in Langford and is now a local business owner. Mayor Young was a Councillor when Langford was first incorporated in 1992. Mayor Young was elected Mayor in December 1993, and has been declared Mayor in the following six elections.

Councillors
Denise Blackwell - Councillor Denise Blackwell is a long-time resident of Langford. She has been on Council since incorporation in 1992. Councillor Blackwell is the Chair of the Protective Services Committee, Vice-Chair of the Planning and Zoning and Affordable Housing Committee. Councillor Blackwell is Langford’s representative on the Capital Regional District Board. Councillor Blackwell will be Acting Mayor for the City from December 2008 to August 2009.

Winnie Sifert - Councillor Sifert has been active in politics in Langford for 15 years. Prior to being elected to the first council in Langford, Winnie was on the Advisory Planning Commission for 6 years. She was elected to council when Langford was first incorporated in 1992. She is Chair of the Transportation & Public Works Standing Committee and Vice Chair of the Admin and Finance Committee. She is also Langford’s representative for the West Shore Chamber of Commerce, Regional Water Supply Commission and Juan de Fuca Water Distribution Commission. Counicllor Sifert will be Acting Mayor from March 2011 to November 2011. Needless to say she is very proud to be on council and is very passionate about her community.

Lanny Seaton - Councillor Lanny Seaton has been a resident and active member in Langford sports, youth organizations and community groups for well over 40 years. Lanny has proudly served as a Langford Councillor since 1996. Councillor Seaton is Chair of the Parks, Recreation, Culture & Beautification Committee, Vice Chair of the Protective Services Standing Committee. Councillor Seaton is Langford’s representative for the Westshore Parks and Recreation Commission, Greater Victoria Public Library. Councillor Seaton will be Acting Mayor from September 2009 to May 2010.

Lillian Szpak - Since moving to Langford in 1993 from Lahr, Germany, Councillor Lillian Szpak has been actively involved in our beautiful and growing community. She is proud to be serving her third consecutive term on Langford Council. Lillian is the Chair of the Planning and Zoning and Affordable Housing Committee, Vice Chair of the Transportation and Public Works Committee. Councillor Szpak is Langford’s representative for the Capital Regional Services Telecommunications Board and Inter Municipal Committee on Disability Issues. Councillor Szpak will be Acting Mayor from June 2010 to February 2011.

Matt Sahlstrom - Councillor Matt Sahlstrom was born in Victoria and has been a resident of Langford since 1969. Proudly elected to the Langford City Council in November of 2002, Matt chairs the Administration & Finance Standing Committee. Councillor Sahlstrom is a Langford representative on the West Shore Parks and Recreation Commission. Matt has always had a keen interest in local politics and will serve his constituents well. Matt has always been proud to be from Langford.

Roger Wade - Councillor Roger Wade sits as Vice Chair on the Parks, Recreation, Culture and Beautification Committee and represents Langford on the West Shore Parks and Recreation Commission.
